I answered his email & he responded & after a few exchanges we decided to meet for coffee. Neither of us liked the bar scene so coffee was a great alternative. It allowed us to really get to talk without disruptions or loud noises. We sat for 2 hrs which seemed like 30 min. We realized that we had a lot in common & I loved his smile (still do). After we parted ways, he thought he would never see or hear from me again...much to his surprise, there was an email waiting for him when he got home. I let him know how much I enjoyed his company & if he wanted to meet again, I was as interested. We talked on the phone until the early morning, neither wanting to get off, but sleep intervened. Two days from our first meeting we met for lunch at a local Italian restaurant & it was then that we exchanged our first kiss. After numerous dates & long chats on my couch we decided to be exclusive, only to find outselves moving in with each other within six months of our meeting.

Our 2 families were united into marriage on October 28, 2006. We now have 3 children, a dog, trailer, boat & a harley. We are nearing our first year anniversary to our "LAST FIRST DATE"!!! Our Fraud Team then works with the Credit Card company to see if the credit card they used to join MyCountryMatch.com has any other weird activity, if it does; we remove the person from MyCountryMatch.com and delete all of their sent mail.

In some cases, we already sent out your email notification. So that is why you're notified of mail, then once you log in, it's gone.

Please remember, never, never send any member money. No matter how nice they seem.

MSNBC has published a story you should all read by CLICKING HERE which outlines one such scam in detail.

We’ve decided to purge all profiles which we believe are suspect based on their location using new web intelligence tools we have purchased. Moving forward we will only allow profiles from the United States, Canada, Australia and the U.K.

Also, this new Chat Server may be blocked by some software and hardware firewalls. So if it doesn't start, please let us know if you're using a software firewall package or a hardware solution like a Linksys router. We have a neat feature on this site that allows you to see who viewed your profile. It is located on the myHome page, about half way down in the center column. Look for "Your Current Stats". This section will show you who looked at your profile and other useful information.

Ok, if you're profile in not getting a lot of views each day there are a couple of things you should look at:

#1 - Is your profile completed? At a minimum, you need to answer your essay questions. Keep in mind, if you don't answer all of the basic questions and the What I'm Looking For section, our match engine will NOT include you in search results. So no one will know you even exist!

#2 - Add a picture to your profile. If you're shy, place a trust level on your photo. Then only people in your myFriends list will actually be able to see your photo. Everyone else will see a "For My Friends Only" picture. However, we will display your results even when people say "With Photos Only". So you really have nothing to lose by posting your photo. BTW, if you are going to post a photo make sure you SMILE. The biggest complaint we receive from our members is about the photos looking like they came from the FBI Most Wanted Site.

Speaking about photos, there is no excuse to not have a photo anymore. You can use a cheap disposable camera and for an extra $3, Wal-Mart will give you your photos on CD. You can always email your photos to support@MyCountryMatch.com as well, and we'll crop them and post them for you - at no charge of course.

Finally, let me point out if you want to view other profiles and not have the other person know it, you can control this behavior in the preferences section which is located at the bottom of all of our pages on this site.

I wish you the best of luck with your service. I have been doing online dating on and off for the last few years and although I am confident that my profile and photos are up to par, I can not believe how many men out there seem to fail to put their best foot forward.

As a young, single, attractive, female I am amazed at the blurry or far away pictures, the 'cool dude' pictures with sun glasses, pictures in shadows where someone looks like they are hiding in the witness protection program, pictures of guys with their shirts off flexing their muscles, pictures of guys whose profiles say how much they like to have fun and their photo says, 'pouty and overly serious.'

I hope the word gets out about AmazingProfiles.com, so some of these guys can present themselves. I hate to click by some of them, but a picture is worth a 1000 words as they say. I think you should let women rank guys pictures and profiles on MyCountryMatch.com. What an eye opener. What's this?

While computer matching does a great job of finding compatible people based on their profile answers, there's no substitute for human chemistry! You can now indicate your interest in people who strike your fancy, and they'll receive an email inviting them to view your profile. Click "Yes" to establish your interest. If one of your "Interests" also clicks "Yes" on your profile, our software let both of you know you've found each other. You can keep track of your "Interests" in the "Your Current States" box on your Member Home Page.

Likewise, if you pull up a profile for someone who just isn't your type, no matter what the computer says, you can say "thanks but no thanks", and that profile will be removed from the list of potential matches we email to you regularly. You don't even have to let them down gently – just click "No". No message, no hurt feelings, no more "mach" emails about this person, and your profile will be removed from their match list as well.

Undecided? This feature works for you too. If you're not ready to eliminate someone from contention, but you're a bit shy about making the first move, click "Maybe". They'll stay in your list of potential matches, so you can make a decision when you're ready.

How is this different from MyFriends?

When you add someone to your MyFriends list, they get to see the more personal parts of your profile, as well as any photos you've posted with a Trust Level. This feature allows you to reveal yourself gradually to people as you get to know them. It provides an additional level of privacy beyond simply expressing interest in someone, and is designed for people you're already communicating with.

How is this different from Blocking a user?

When you block a user, that profile essentially disappears from the site. You won't receive email from them, or chat requests, nor will you see their profile. The goal of this program is to use real MyCountryMatch.com members on our home page, banner and print ads. Our banner ads are served over a hundred thousand impressions each month. For models who would like to expand their portfolio to include website banner ads, this program helps them achieve this goal.

We’re very pleased to announce that “AllyCat” photo submission has been selected to help kick off this program. Ally’s pictures demonstrated her range in front of the camera. She was able to go from playful cowgirl, having fun with a cowboy hat to sophisticated lady heading to the opera. Ally’s email accompanying the photos was upbeat, positive and nice! When I asked him why no photo, he said, "I really don't want the guys at work to see my picture online!" We understand. Did you know you can upload your photo and assign it to a trust level? This way the picture is not available to the public. Only people on your "MyFriends" list can actually view your picture.

Members are in total control on MyCountryMatch.com. Simply browse the member profiles, when you read a profile of someone you're interested in, add them to your myFriends list and give them the same trust level as your photo. Now, your photo will appear when they view your profile. The photo is hidden from everyone else.

So, as you can see, there is no logical reason not to have a photo attached to your profile. Go add a photo right now and watch your profile views increase!

Next, I told him he had to put some more effort in his essay answers. There are companies like Amazing Profiles who will help write an awesome essay for you. At a minimum, visit their sites and get some ideas on what to add to yours. Remember, it is a “Personal ad” – as in advertisement, you need to be descriptive in what you’re looking for. Make the effort!

Mark (countrylaughfter) and Tanya (tayna315) told us they were leaving the site because of their engagement right after Valentine's day. In a message from Mark, he was kind enough to write:

Me (countrylaughfter) and my girlfriend soon to be Fiancé Tanya (tayna315) are currently developing a relationship like no other either of us has ever been involved in. We just wanted to say thank you to all of you involved in creating this site and thank you for bringing us together.

I personally have tried other sites with little to no success of meeting the kind of people I was interested in. Your site by far was the most user friendly and convenient. Team MCM ]]> Sat, 03 Apr 2004 14:51:16 -0700 <![CDATA[Bakersfield, CA Meet And Mingle Successful!]]> http://www.mycountrymatch.com/SystemMessages.aspx Friday night, February 20th, 2004 will be written down in history as the night MyCountryMatch.com threw its first "Meet & Mingle" event at Rockin' Rodeo in Bakersfield, CA.

Rockin' Rodeo is a huge converted warehouse that can handle up to 1,500 people before the local Fire Marshall even blinks. Our party started at 7pm. Within the first half hour, 40 of our members came by to get new photos taken for their profiles. By 8:15 we had 150 people and the party was officially underway. The music was rockin' and our members were line dancing, mingling and getting to know each other.

MyCountryMatch.com members also got to meet members of the MyCountryMatch.com team, including staff from customer support and development. More importantly, MyCountryMatch.com members got to meet each other in a fun setting. We know many people exchanged member id's and we have even heard that some of the more shy members have already logged on and sent email to people they recognized from Rockin' Rodeo.

At 8:45pm, Western Warehouse, Bakersfield's premier western outlet store, raffled off a half dozen prizes including gift certificates for Wrangler jeans.

As we looked around, we couldn't help noticing that everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. People were playing pool, line dancing and we even caught one of our female members riding the mechanical bull!

At 9pm, Rockin Rodeo's live band started playing, and Bakersfield's hottest singles party was underway with 250 attending. By 11:15 the crowd reached 1,000. Let's just say, Rockin' Rodeo was indeed Rockin'.

If you live in Bakersfield and missed the party, we hope to see you at the next event - watch for an announcement soon. For those of you who live in other areas, we've started to expand our marketing efforts in other major cities throughout North America - we plan to bring "Meet & Mingle" events to your location soon.
